The HR Manager is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Global HR Director in supporting the east coast day-to-day needs of the company. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, policy implementation, employment onboarding and offboarding, affirmative action and employment law compliance.
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for east coast company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems
  • Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions on a day-to-day basis
  • Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains that they are current for the east coast
  • Tracks and calendars employee time off requests for the east coast
  • Tracks and schedules employee reviews
  • Prepares, administers, and tracks new employee paperwork, including offer letter and initial hire paperwork
  • Schedules new hire orientations
  • Supports with payroll administration, entering all information, tracking, updating, and submitting to controller for final review
  • Administers 401k, tracking, collecting, inputting changes (including new hires and terms) and rollovers for the east coast
  • Manages all employee benefit enrollment for east coast
  • Owns and actively updates company organization charts for east coast
  • Manages agency job descriptions ensuring accuracy and relevance to east coast office
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals; recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed
  • Maintains HRIS records and compiles reports from the database as needed
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
  • Supports Global HR Director with Performance Review process
  • Supports Global HR Director with distribution, development, and creation of company policies
  • Supports Global HR Director with immigration/visa matters
  • Supports Global HR Director with general administrative duties (filing, processing address changes, etc.)
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned
The list of qualifications includes the minimum qualifications necessary for any new employee for this position, such as specific prior work experience, certifications/licenses, technical knowledge of software, machinery, or tools, and physical abilities such as relevant lifting, bending, walking, and/or stooping.
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, or related field preferred
  • 4+ years experience in human resource experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced creative environment
  • Ability to effectively and appropriately interact with co-workers at a variety of levels, across many disciplines
  • Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills required
  • Strong financial understanding of budgeting, estimating, and agency profitability
  • A demonstrated track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound critical thinking skills and maintaining composure in stressful situations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
  • Highly organized with a keen sense of attention to detail
  • Exceptional initiative and follow-through skills
  • After hours work occasionally required
