SET New York is looking for a temporary Resource Manager to join our team for a 3-4 month assignment. The Resource Manager is the essential glue to facilitate project work between project managers, creative, strategy and tech by handling a wide range of details to keep projects moving and clearing some of the basic obstacles that arise. The Resource Manager is responsible for ensuring teams have the needed resources and support to deliver superior client service and exceed expectations by delivering projects on time, and at a consistently high creative level. The Resource Manager also develops and fosters relationships of trust and mutual respect with each member of the creative, strategy, tech and project management team, learning their individual strengths and limitations; acts as sounding board, confidant, and advocate for them.
 
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Intake all project briefs: review, assess and partner with department leads to assign teams based on skillset required for the project (match employee’s strengths and skills to the need), bandwidth, scheduling, etc.
  • Establishes and maintains open communication with the creative team, creative directors, department heads (Strategy, Tech, Project Management), project managers and account managers to determine schedules, conflicts in schedules, skills balancing on the team and approaching deadlines and actions needed.
  • The resource manager is responsible for running daily and weekly resourcing meetings attended by project managers and creative directors. In these meetings they review daily work schedules of creative team; organize, prioritize and dispatch the workload.
  • Partner with project management to keep forecasted allocations current in Netsuite.
  • Remain mindful of team dynamics including strengths and weaknesses of individuals in the team and how they interact with one another, resolving issues or conflicts and supporting team morale
  • Adept at managing a limited supply of resources against constantly changing demands
  • Must have a good view on what’s coming up and creating short, mid, and long term resource plans. As part of planning, the RM needs to be aware of the changing needs and priorities of the enterprise to ensure that the resources available to do the work have the requisite time and skills to do the work.
  • SET realistic expectations push back and say NO when appropriate
  • Partners with leadership on workflow structure and provides resource allocations for all client billable, non-billable and new biz work.
  • Ability to evaluate individual performance based on project needs and provide meaningful and constructive feedback to leadership team
  • Determines need for freelance staff based on workload, partners with department leads and HR to source freelancers and negotiate freelance rates as appropriate
  • Understands both the strategic and tactical priorities for the organization and communicates these clearly and consistently to the teams
