This Resource Manager is the essential glue to facilitate project work between project managers, design and tech design by handling a wide range of details to keep projects moving and clearing some of the basic obstacles that arise. The Resource Manager is responsible for ensuring teams have the needed resources and support to deliver superior client service and exceed expectations by delivering projects on time, and at a consistently high creative level. The Resource Manager also develops and fosters relationships of trust and mutual respect with each member of the studio and learns their individual strengths and limitations; acts as sounding board, confidant, and advocate for them.
 
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Reports into leadership team including: Director of Creative Services, Executive Creative Director and Director of Project Management. Direct Report: Director of Creative Services
  • Partners with project managers to help facilitate clarifying conversations on project particulars, expedite solutions related to workflow obstacles and a myriad of needs that enable teams to exceed client expectations
  • Understands both the strategic and tactical priorities for the organization and communicates these clearly and consistently to the teams
  • Establishes and maintains open communication with the designers, creative directors, project managers and account managers to determine schedules, conflicts in schedules, skills balancing on the team and approaching deadlines and actions needed
  • Ability to evaluate individual performance based on project needs and provide meaningful and constructive feedback to leadership team
  • Remain mindful of team dynamics including strengths and weaknesses of individuals in the team and how they interact with one another, resolving issues or conflicts and supporting team morale
  • Adept at managing a limited supply of resources against constantly changing demands
  • Must have a good view on what’s coming up and creating short, mid, and long term resource plans. As part of planning, the RM needs to be aware of the changing needs and priorities of the enterprise to ensure that the resources available to do the work have the requisite time and skills to do the work.

  • Ensure all briefs are dispatched in the studio based on each employee’s strengths and skills
  • Understand clients’ objectives for each project
  • Creates project plans, workflow structure, and provides resource allocation
  • Maintain interaction with production designers and designers and project managers on a myriad of aspects of each project and facilitate anticipated or actual issues to a solution
  • Review daily work schedules of studio members; organize, prioritize and dispatch the workload
  • Compile and update studio schedules regularly, keeping all departments informed about project status
  • Ensure all briefs are dispatched in the studio based on each employee’s strengths and skills
  • Update and maintain status reports for studio workload
  • Determines need for freelance staff based on workload, sources freelancers and negotiates freelance rates
 
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
The list of qualifications includes the minimum qualifications necessary for any new employee for this position, such as specific prior work experience, certifications/licenses, technical knowledge of software, machinery, or tools, and physical abilities such as relevant lifting, bending, walking, and/or stooping.
 
  • Bachelors degree in Business, or related field (design, marketing, advertising) preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced creative environment
  • Ability to effectively and appropriately interact with co-workers at a variety of levels, across many disciplines
  • Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills required
  • Strong financial understanding of budgeting, estimating, and agency profitability
  • A demonstrated track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound critical thinking skills and maintaining composure in stressful situations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
  • Highly organized with a keen sense of attention to detail
  • Exceptional initiative and follow-through skills
  • After hours work and overnight travel may be required
