The Account Director (AD) leads key work streams for the client and is accountable for driving successful growth on that part of the business. The AD collaborates with creative, strategy and agency leadership to ensure agency and client objectives are met as a whole. This individual ensures the team is delivering innovative work, on strategy and within budget and timeline. The AD also manages client expectations, leading discussions that ultimately cultivate strong relationships built through dedication, respect and understanding. The AD is charged with fostering a healthy supporting team, remaining steady in the face of pressure and challenge, and is always solutions-oriented and resourceful when approaching any task at hand.

Responsibilities include:
_ Manages the day to day senior client expectations, objectives and timelines
_ Participates in weekly executive creative reviews
_ Communicates account team goals and maintains agency’s cross functional relationships (Creative, PM, Strategy)
_ Manages and mentors junior level team members
_ Manages and cultivates relationships with partner agencies
_ Identifies short term and long term opportunities for building client business
_ Monitors account performance and client burn
_ Establishes and implements best practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness to deliver on client objectives
_  Pursues opportunities that increase overall agency and client revenue
_ Works with project director to ensure the successful execution of projects
_ Proactively identifies solutions to resolve internal and external struggles and conflicts
_ Proactively develops and sustains ongoing client relationships
_ Develops a deep understanding of the client and their industry; its business initiatives, industry trends, competitive landscape and marketplace dynamics
_ Understands how the client is organized, key players and the intricate working relationships
_  Proactively brings forth business-building ideas, strategies and solutions for clients
_  Establishes relationships with senior client management, executive teams and procurement
_  Manages the day-to-day senior client expectations, objectives, and timeline
_  Proactively identifies solutions to resolve internal and external struggles and conflicts


The list of qualifications includes the minimum qualifications necessary for any new employee for this position, such as specific prior work experience, certifications/licenses, technical knowledge of software, machinery, or tools, and physical abilities such as relevant lifting, bending, walking, and/or stooping.
 
_  Bachelors degree in Business, or related field preferred
_  9+ years of senior client services experience (minimum of 10 years working for an agency), with a broad array of expertise in brand branding, marketing and advertising with strong experience in brand experience and retail
_  Experience with fast paced retail accounts, with emphasis on print & digital
_  High-level strategic thinker with a clear understanding of retail strategy, creative and technology
_  Effective presentation skills and the ability to articulate strategic creative solutions to high level clients, from Directors to C-suite
_  Proven experience in selling agency work – cross-selling, up-selling with existing clients and in new business situations
_  Strong written and visual communicator with expert presentation skills
_  Strong understanding and appreciation of creative and strategy
_  Ability to translate strategic vision into tangible programs and deliverables
_  Strong interpersonal skills (open, friendly, patient, pragmatic and supportive attitude)
_  Effective team member and team leader
